Title: Agency Sales Lead

Summary

The Sales Director is responsible for actively creating and managing the entire business development process, including: prospecting, qualifying, developing relationships, building business cases, negotiating contracts, and closing sales. The Sales Director is responsible for planning and implementing both short and long range sales and marketing plans.

Essential Functions

  • Target new business opportunities and establish relationships with new prospects and clients directly and via agency contacts.
  • Using a consultative sales approach, work with prospective clients to understand their business and tailor the appropriate solution for their needs.
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans, sales plans and forecasts to achieve company objectives.
  • Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities.
  • Write proposals and presentations, lead pitches and prospective client meetings, and set expectations for deliverables
  • Close contracts with new clients.
  • Accurately update and maintain client database for all prospects and clients.
  • Consistently meet and exceed quarterly sales quotas.
  • Develop a well-rounded understanding of Resonate’s technical capabilities and services to provide prospective clients with sufficient insight during the sales process.
  • Support on-going implementation projects by advising clients on the optimal approach to development based on your understanding of client requirements as well as the capabilities of Resonate’s solutions and services.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships clients to ensure client retention.
  • Consistently be proactive and responsive to prospects and clients.
  • Develop and enhance the company’s reputation as an industry leader.
  • Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities to ensure Resonate is positioned as a market leader.
  • Represent Resonate at industry events.
  • Perform any additional duties necessary.
  • Review and analyze sales performance against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
  • Prepare sales reports.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience selling advertising and technology.
  • B2B sales experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Existing advertiser and agency relationships required.
  • A good understanding of the social media landscape, tools and techniques.
  • Ability to consistently produce error-free documents under strict deadlines, ensuring that all major and minor details are covered.
  • Ability to work independently and also in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently.
  • Excellent contract negotiation skills.
  • Proven experience consistently developing and closing new business and growing revenue.
  • Proven ability to be both strategic and transactional.
  • Proven ability to communicate persuasively within all levels of an organization, including the C-suite.
  • A successful sales record of consistently exceeding assigned goals.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to understand and keep abreast of technology developments related to the industry.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients.
  • Ability to respond to frequent pressure to meet deadlines when work speed and responsiveness are important.
  • Ability to respond to frequent demands of multiple clients.

Work Conditions

  • Local travel required on a weekly basis. Overnight travel required as needed.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time in an office and a car while driving.
